JAX Stereo Tool is a visual Audio Unit plugin designed for manipulating the stereo image of digital audio. The distribution app includes an embedded plug-in (Audio Unit) that becomes available system-wide upon installation. This tool is compatible with most supporting host applications.

Audio Units are the recommended method by Apple for providing shared audio effects across applications and audio editors. Users can load this plugin into any host application that supports at least stereophonic audio effect plug-ins in Audio Unit format, complete with its own user interface.

JAX Stereo Tool is primarily used as a mastering effect, enabling users to modify the stereo image by narrowing or widening it in a controlled manner. This real-time adjustment allows for a continuous spectrum from mono to wide stereo. The integrated correlograph provides visual feedback, aiding in the optimization and control of audio output.
